Tutoring Plus can help your child succeed!

Tutoring Plus has been supporting the academic, personal, and social growth of Cambridge’s youth for more than 40 years. Our evening tutoring and enrichment programs are provided free of charge. We serve between 100 and 130 students in grades 4 through 12 throughout the school year.

 Students enrolled will:

  • Complete homework
  • Receive tutoring in academic trouble spots
  • Participate in classroom activites, ranging from developing computer skills to learning about new career opportunities
  • Spend time with a caring adult who is there to help or just listen

Started by Mothers, Continuing to Thrive

The mothers who started this program wanted the same things for their children that you want for yours: success. We have more than 40 years of experience working to ensure that your kids get the support they need in and out of the classroom.

Beyond Homework Help: Inspiring Growth

Tutoring Plus is not just about homework. We use after-school time to forge meaningful relationships between students and tutors that will inspire academic and personal growth.

We do this by creating a personalized learning environment for your child. Students work one-on-one with trained tutors or in small groups to ensure that they are working on material at the pace that is right for them.

Our tutors are trained to help strengthen students’ study and organizational skills, so your child will not just get homework done, he or she will do better in school.

Our Programs

Our first priority is ensuring that students receive the guidance they need to succeed academically and grow as individuals. Our staff of volunteer tutors provides that guidance through five tutoring and enrichment programs.

Tutoring Programs

Working with a tutor one-on-one or in small groups, your child will address academic trouble spots and strengthen his or her study skills.

  • High School One-on-One Tutoring. Meets 6:00-7:30, Mondays at Jefferson Park, Tuesdays at 119 Windsor, and Wednesdays at Roosevelt Towers.
  • Middle School Tutoring. Meets 5:30-7:00, Mondays and Wednesdays at Fletcher-Maynard Academy and Tuesdays at King Open School and Thursdays at Cambridgeport School.
Enrichment Programs

Your child will explore the wonder of science, engineering, and math. Using hands-on approaches to problem solving, he or she will test hypotheses, design experiments, and learn strategies and best practices for solving mathematical word problems.
