Tutoring Plus Builds for the Future

For over 40 years, Tutoring Plus has been trusted and effective in improving the education of Cambridge youth. Tutoring Plus continues to inspire academic and personal growth through new programs and strong partnerships.

Trusted Partnerships: Tutoring Plus’s success started over 40 years ago when local moms partnered with MIT students to tutor local kids. Tutoring Plus knows that strong partnerships with local universities, organizations, and businesses helps students and helps the community.

More Volunteers = More Students Helped: Tutoring Plus success is based on committed, well-educated volunteers who serve as role models for their students. Tutoring Plus is working to add more volunteers so more students can be helped.

Effective Volunteers: Tutors know that they will be effective with their students because of the Tutoring Plus structured approach. Tutors will be prepared to work with students who are in need of remedial assistance or have behavioral challenges that slow their learning. Volunteers will be receiving even more support with increased training in managing these issues.

Academic Support: Tutoring Plus long-standing approach is to build student success through one-on-one assistance with their daily class lessons. To build on that, Tutoring Plus is building academic support in specific content areas. Tutoring Plus has enrichment programs to engage students in the wonders of science, engineering, and math.
