Become a volunteer tutor and forge relationships that inspire academic and personal growth!

With the help of volunteers like you, Tutoring Plus has been supporting the academic, personal, and social growth of Cambridge's youth for more than 46 years. Most of our students live in the Area IV neighborhood of Cambridge (the neighborhoods between Central and Kendall Squares). Our tutoring programs serve 150 students in grades 4 through 12 throughout the school year.

Tutoring Plus continues to thrive because of volunteers like you who live, work, and attend school in Cambridge and nearby communities. Our tutors meet with their students for one hour in the evening in six locations across Cambridge.

And we provide the training, techniques, and ongoing support you need to create an effective and personalized learning environment for your student.

Our Programs

Our first priority is ensuring that our students receive the guidance they need to succeed in school and grow as individuals. As a tutor, you'll provide the academic and mentoring support these children need to flourish. And you'll be rewarded by watching a child grow and excel.

Tutoring Programs

Working one-on-one or in small groups, you will help a child address academic trouble spots and strengthen his or her study skills.

Enrichment Programs

Engage a small group of students in the wonder of science, engineering, and math. Using hands-on approaches to problem solving, your students will explore and test hypotheses, design experiments, and learn strategies and best practices to solving mathematical word problems.
