The Students
Most students served by Tutoring Plus live in a part of Cambridge called Area IV, which sits between Kendall and Central Square.
Tutoring Plus’ students come from a variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds:
Student Households
- Area IV has the lowest income and is the third most densely populated than other Cambridge neighborhoods.
- Sixty percent of the residents of Area IV identify themselves as minorities.
- Over half of all family households in Area IV are headed by a single parent.
- Area IV is home to the largest percentage of children under 18 years of age (23% vs. 13% on average for the rest of Cambridge).
