Subject-Specific Enrichment Programs
Our Enrichment Programs provide subject-specific, hands-on learning opportunities focused on coding, math, media literacy, poetry, and more. These programs run over a break week or are 5-8 weeks long.
Additionally, we partner with Cambridge-based out-of-school time (OST) programs to deliver our Enrichment Programs to other programs’ students.
Math+
-
Math+ (“Math Plus”) is a project and center-based math program for elementary and/or middle school students in Cambridge. Math+ aims to increase math literacy among youth through exploratory, interactive, and hands-on learning methods.
By the end of their time with us, students will have planned & constructed their own Global Village. They’ll use data, geometry, measurement, and more to create a model of a community suitable to welcome their citizens to live and thrive in, which they will present to their classmates in a gallery walk at the end of the workshop. We encourage young people to make connections between math and their everyday lives, showing young people that math is practical, necessary, and fun!
BlocksCAD 3D Coding
-
BlocksCAD is an education technology company dedicated to creating tools that help students of all ages pursue their love of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Young people will use their easy-to-use, blocks-based programming interface that encourages users to learn math, computational thinking, and coding concepts through visualization and designing models to be 3D printed. At the end of the course, youth will design something to be 3D printed that they can keep!
Rhythm & Poetry
-
In Rhythm & Poetry, students will gain poetry and creative writing skills by learning about literary devices, lyricism, and free-styling. Students will grow comfortable performing their writing in front of a group.
Girls’ Media
-
Girls’ Digital Media Group is an enrichment program for middle school students who identify with girlhood. It is designed to foster critical thinking, self-expression, and confidence in participants by equipping them with essential media literacy skills.
In this workshop series, students will explore how contemporary digital media—like TikTok trends, beauty filters, and influencers—shapes how they see themselves and others. Sessions will include discussions, activities, guest speakers, a field trip, and a final project. In the final project, students will demonstrate the core principles of media literacy while combating harmful narratives with innovative and thoughtful reimaginations of the digital world.
