Our Core 4
-
1:1 Tutoring & Mentoring
This is our core programming. Youth in grades 4-12 work closely with Tutoring Plus staff to check in about academic progress, personal well-being, and goals. Students receive individualized academic support from volunteer tutors.
-
Homework Centers
Homework Centers provide a safe, structured space for students to drop in and receive homework support. Homework Centers operate at select Tutoring Plus program sites and local community organizations.
-
Enrichment Programs
Our Enrichment Programs provide subject-specific, hands-on learning opportunities focused on coding, math, media literacy, poetry, and more. These programs run over a break week or are 5-8 weeks long.
-
High School Program
High School students participate in weekly, hands-on workshops on time management, college preparation, career readiness, and more. In addition to these workshops, students receive tutoring and mentoring from a volunteer tutor.
Other Initiatives
-
School Supply Drive
Each summer, we organize a school supply drive so young learners in Cambridge can start the school year equipped with the necessary materials to succeed. Once we have gathered the supplies, we will host a backpack-packing event where volunteers will help organize and pack the supplies into backpacks for students!
-
Alumni Network
Once a part of Tutoring Plus, always a part of Tutoring Plus! We're constantly building a growing community of alumni who want to stay connected, give back, and support the next generation of students. Whether you were in our programs last year or ten years ago, we want to hear from you!
-
CRLS Alum Panel
The CRLS Alumni Panel is a chance for high school students to connect with professionals who’ve walked the walls of CRLS and learn how they’ve navigated their careers.
-
Friends of CRLS Scholarship
Every year through the Friends of CRLS, we award a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who has participated in Tutoring Plus and who intends to enroll in any type of higher education program in the summer or fall.
